Well, it seems like I usually start my blog entries with an excuse as to why I haven't updated the blog in so long. My excuse this time is that my camera has a short in the usb port so it's much easier to upload pictures via the sd card reader on the laptop which Noah has had in NM for the last 3 months. I kinda feel like doing a blog update without pictures is a little lame.

Ok, now that we got that out of the way, before I post pics of what we've been up to (aka get to the good stuff). I feel the need to thank some people who make my life so excellent. Please, if I don't mention you specifically, it's not because I don't LOVE you. Trust me, I do. It's only because I'm falling asleep and think I'm high off fumes from accidentally inhaling my exhaust a few minutes ago.

If I must thank someone first, it has to be my best friend, brother, perfect example, my savior, Jesus Christ. I would be a liar if I said I have made him as much of a priority as I should, but I do my best to remember him, think about him, and be like him. I KNOW that he is always thinking about me, and cheering me on. All that is good comes from him and I am grateful for the strength and comfort he provides me.

Thank you to my husband, Noah, who makes sacrifices so that I can be home with our children. It is wonderful to be married to my other best friend. I am so grateful to be with someone that I actually like and get along with so easily for ETERNITY! I am very spoiled and love him very much.

Thank you to my sister Miranda for being my seester. Out of the 987 times I've asked her for favors, I think she's only said no, once. She then called me a few minutes later and said "never mind, I'll do it". Jonah gets a little confused and sometimes calls her Mom, that's how much she watches him. Not to mention spending the night multiple times so I can go on early morning bike rides, driving me to the car shop, grocery shopping for me, babysitting, cleaning my toilets, making me dinner, keeping me company, and spending the night so I could go to the hospital with my friend while having her baby (just to name a few.) When it comes to sisters, I have THE BEST! (I said I was spoiled right?)

Thank you to my parents for being so wonderful. Always helping me with random stuff and letting me be a lazy bum when I come visit them, or when they come visit me. If I had to list everything you've done for me, I would be here for eternity. I love you.

To the group of people I currently abide near. (aka Gladden Farms residents). Never in my life have I been amongst such a generous group of people. The first thing I think of was a few months after Jonah was born there was a storm in our neighborhood. One of our trees cracked in half and needed repair. Noah and I were both working full time and had a new baby so we were a little overwhelmed. One day, I suddenly realized the tree had been repaired and neither of us had anything to do with it. Someone had fixed it anonymously, without asking for anything in return. Not even a thank you. Random acts of kindness such as this have continued the entire time we live here. Hand me down clothes, meals cooked, late night ROOT BEER deliveries, irrigation inspections, babysitting so I can clean/pack, are just a few examples of the blessings I've received. My family and I are very sad to be moving away from such a spectacular group of people but we know we are making the right decision for our family and hope to move back eventually.

Jen Lynn, thank you for being my BFF (right??). You are my hero, I hope my muscles can only be half the size of yours when I'm 28. I love your kids and I guess Billbo is ok too. I am soooo sad that I won't be here to run with you anymore, but I'm sure you're too fast for me now anyway. KICK BUTT!!!!! At IMAZ, I'm expecting you to get first place.

Nadia, thank you for understanding my burping and farting jokes, keeping me company, and laughing with me, you are a great friend.

Gallions, Hancocks, Conellys, Oldhams, Gonzaleses, Durons thank you for helping me with my children while Noah was gone.

Laura Hatch, thank you for sending your husband to look at my irrigation, watching my kids, getting me the coolest snuggie around, making me delicious dinners and deserts, and buying my dinner!!

Andrea and Julie, thank you for coming to my girls night and being my friend!!!

Little Liz, WT partner in crime, Elizabeth, Carny Freak, Midgit, Bodacious Babe, I love you and will miss you dearly :( Park love :(

Becca and Sylvia, you make me sound really cool cause I can say, "yeah i have tons of friends in Sahuarita" It's almost like being famous. ;)

So, in case you haven't heard, we are moving to Sierra Vista this Saturday. Hence the farewell. We are looking forward to a new adventure, cooler weather, less traffic, our DOUBLE WIDE, 15 min drive to my parent's house, and Noah's new job. But we will miss all of our family and friends very much. Catch ya on the flip side!

PS I can't forget to thank my WONDERFUL in-laws. Thank you to Kathy, Tony, and Shannon for helping with the kids and letting me mooch of of you for dinner sometimes.

Thank you to John, aka "Best Friiiiiiiieeend" for watching the kids and keeping me company, feeding me, helping me find my CAR!, making me pumpkin bread, and answering the phone when I call even though I'm usually just asking for something ;)

3rd Time's a Miracle!

Oy Vey...So I never posted my labor story and thought it might be a good time to do it, before Ruby graduates from high school. At about 6:30 in the morning on Feb 16th I started having contractions. They started out about 10 minutes apart and eventually got down to 2 minutes apart. Just as I started getting my hopes up they slowed down and some were 35 minutes apart. So I decided it must be another false alarm. I went to lunch with my bffs and was having contractions the whole time but I kept waiting for them to get down to less than 5 minutes apart for at least an hour. At about 4:30 in the afternoon they still were far apart, sometimes 8 minutes but they were sooooo intense I thought I'd better get to the hospital. I decided to bring my barf bucket in case I needed to throw up in the car, seeing as I threw up with every contraction when in labor with Jonah. Good thing I brought it! Once I barfed, Noah knew it was the real deal. I got to the hospital and the check in lady says, "so you think you're having contractions?" I almost laughed in her face but instead just said "oh yeah" After giving her my info I walked back to triage and the nurse checked me, KABAM! 8 cm dilated! Holy sheesh. So considering I felt like I was slowly being run over by a steam roller I asked if it was too late for an epidural. They rolled me back to a room while I was making some awesome moaning sounds (and Noah says I looked posessed) ha ha. Right as the epidural team walked in my water broke and I said, "I have to push!". 5 or so pushes later little miss Ruby popped out :) What a sweet little angel we have! She is so chill and has already been sleeping about 6 hours most nights. Easiest baby ever. Also the most beautiful, in case you couldn't tell. So I got to the hospital at about 5:40 and she was born at 6:21. Very glad I went in when I did or she may have been born in the car!

So, how is it adjusting to two, you ask? At first I had no idea how I was going to do it (yes I know you mothers of 6 are laughing at me) but after about a month it just felt like normal. We have lots of fun trying to explain to Jonah why it's not okay to step on your sister. I especially had fun today cleaning up after Jonah emptying an entire tub of eucerin cream all over his wall, door, blanket, and last but not least carpet. I told my mom....I LOVE being a mom! Though I said it sarcastically, it really is the truth. I am incredibly blessed to be the mother of such wonderful (thought sometimes challenging) children, and wife to a most amazing husband.

Also worth mentioning is the fact that I put in my two week notice at my current job, which means I am officially a full-time mom! So excited. Noah also got a new job with Xerox working from home that seems to be going very well so far. Good times.

Well, I guess I better start cleaning up this place and doing some laundry before I get fired from my new job :) Thanks to all our wonderful friends and family who have helped and blessed our lives so much during this time of transition. We are truly blessed!

3rd Time's a Charm?

So, Monday morning, 3am, I start having contractions that are 5 minutes apart. After about 2 hours of this I decided to go on a walk to see if they would stop or get stronger. They stayed the same. At about 6am I decided I should wake up Noah to see what he thinks. He thinks (as most sane people would) that 3 hours of contractions 5 minutes apart warrant a trip to the hospital. I call my mom and she thinks the same thing. By about 7ish we are at the hospital and the contractions are getting stronger and closer together. They hook me up the monitors and I have 4 contractions in 7 minutes. Then the nurse asks me the million dollar question, "Have you had anything to drink this morning?".

I sheepishly answer, "....no" So they proceed to give me what I would guess to be about 48oz of apple juice. What do you know, an hour later the contractions are slowing and eventually stop all together. All the while I am only dilated to 2cm and have not progressed in the time I'm at the hospital. So...they send me home. I was in tears because I felt like I wouldn't know when to come back! But, whatever, nothing I can do about it, right?

So I'm thinking to myself....ugghhh, I wish my water would just break so I wouldn't have to decide if I should go in or not. Today, my sister came over to watch Jonah so I could go to a pregnancy/postpartum support group I've been attending. On my way out the door I said, "I'll be back at 12:30, unless my water breaks, which would be fine with me."

PS since Monday I've been drinking water like a mo-fo trying to prevent false alarm #2. So I'm sitting in the support group which is adjacent to the NW Women's Center where I plan to deliver and I really have to pee. So I get up and go to the bathroom. I come back, sit down, and GUSH! There is suddenly about 2 cups of warm water running down my legs. Oh, well.....this is convenient! Then, I start having some contractions when I was not previously. So I decide my water mush have broken and walk over to the Women's Center. 2 Lithmus tests and 1 slide test later...no, it has not...I have just peed in my pants. Well, at least this time Noah didn't leave work. PS, I'm still dilated to 2cm and somehow less effaced than I was on Monday.

So hence the title, 3rd time's a charm? I think I'm going to wait until the baby's head is crowning before I go in again.

1 Week Till Baby?

Yeah! I can't believe Ruby could be here in a week (more or less depending on when she decides to come). I thought for sure she would be here by now, mainly because I was 75% effaced at my 36 week appointment (3 weeks ago). With Jonah I was not effaced at all until I went into labor. I remember thinking he would come early too. A wonderful co-worker of mine informed be that disability for maternity leave is available at 38 weeks of pregnancy and that I didn't have to wait until the baby was born to take leave so last Wednesday was my last day of work! Wish I'd known that with Jonah, but it's all good. So I've been able to feel a little more prepared by doing some things around the house and it's been so nice not having to worry about work on top of everything else. Noah also found out today that he gets a whole week off of work!! We were hopeful for 2 days so it will be nice to have him home.

I have been thinking a lot lately about how grateful I am to have such a wonderful family and group of friends. I am truly, truly blessed.

Here is a pic of one of my projects. My friends bought a new bedding set for Ruby which means I was forced into redecorating the nursery (Garlene and Sylvia, I love you and hate you at the same time). So the first thing I wanted to tackle was the hamper, I bought the fabric and made it from scratch and am pretty pleased with how it turned out! Next I have to make the curtains and figure out wall decorations. My wonderful sister (who cleaned my bathroom for me yesterday) purchased a valance and diaper holder that match so we're waiting for those to come in too. See what I mean by being so blessed with wonderful friends and family!?

No other updates with us for now. Will do my best to post pictures of Ruby after she joins us but no promises :)

1 Month till Baby!

Wow, I can't believe we're going to have a new little lady in our home in only 1 month! I have mixed emotions of excitement and anxiety (probably more of the latter) :) Jonah seems to be excited but we'll see when I actually come home from the hospital. He likes to give "baby wooby" (Ruby), aka my belly kisses and pinches and even squirted her with some of his bath toys tonight. We've been working on potty training and he's doing awesome, but everyone tells me they "slide back" after a baby is born, so we'll just have to see what happens I guess. Noah's doing really well at GEICO, I'm so proud of him for being such a super-stud. PS, in case you didn't know he's the best husband/father ever. I tell him that all the time so he already knows it too. We're hoping to know by this summer if we'll be moving or not, we're considering moving closer to Noah's work because it's an hour drive each way for him. I hear it's not fun. We had a fun-filled December and got to see lots of family on and around Christmas. I was sick over New Year's so we didn't make it to my parent's New Year's party which was sad but I had a week off of work and was a sloth the whole time which was pretty awesome. I'm so grateful for my family and grateful for the time of year we have to reflect on our Savior's birth. I'm so grateful for Jesus and his love for me, it gives my life purpose!

So January is "get ready for baby month"....whatever that means. Eat lots of cinnamon rolls?? I've got that down. Well hopefully my next post will be with pictures of her! (one year from now....ha ha)

Soooo, I decided I was too didn't have time to update my blog and facebook so I would just post pics to facebook. I realized a year later that not everyone has facebook and so thanks to those people...I'm updating our blog. :) So here's what's going on...in case you don't know:

Noah: Graduated from NAU in May and is working at GEICO. We're happy he was able to find a job in Tucson with a good company. He is in the Supervisor Leadership Program and currently works 3:45-Midnight, woo hoo!

Jeannette: Still working at Comcast as the Retail Account Executive, enjoying my job for the most part. 6 months pregnant with baby #2, first girl. Open to any name suggestions.

Jonah: Obsessed with Toy Story, reading books, doing puzzles, eating grapes, and being a smart, funny, happy, "energetic" 2 year old. He turned 2 last month.

Jonah is pretty much the best thing ever! I carry a picture of him with me when I'm at work because I can't help but smile when I see him :) Here he is trying to tickle my foot through the chair. In case you didn't know, I have the most ticklish feet on the planet and I often threaten to kill Noah if he tries to tickle them. It seems Jonah inherited this disorder from me as well. He's pretty much a professional crawler now and has pulled himself up a few times! Noah and I started a bet as to when he'll start walking. I say 10 months, Noah says 10.5, any takers?

Jonah is a crazy roller! He will be 6 months on the 23rd and I can't believe it! He's doing so well and sleeps 8-9 hours every night. If I could only get to bed at 7:00 then I would get some pretty good sleep :) Aunt Miranda watches him while I go to work and they seem to have lots of fun together. Daddy also watches him 2 days and they have fun too. I think I'm going to get some pictures taken of him at JcPenney or something close to his 6 month birthday.

Woo hoo!!! Thanks to my mom buying me a great book (Baby Wise), to my doctor for giving us reflux medicine, and to myself for sticking to a new routine, Jonah slept 8 hours last night!!!

Can I tell you happy I am? If you'd like to know, go ahead and set your alarm clock to go off every two hours at night for 3.5 months! Then you'll know!

Here are a couple more pictures of Jonah. We love him more and more everyday! We went to church for the first time together and it wasn't as horrible as I thought it would be. I told Noah I had a much more "complete" feeling going to church with him now :) The bottom picture is right after his bath when we combed his hair, ha ha. So freakin' cute!!

36 Weeks

Mother's day was quite the treat at Kathy's house! We ate carne asada tacos with Micah's yummy beans and rice. We also had fresh squeezed fruit juice and smoothies with orange sherbet. Yuuummmm. Then we all squeezed into a picture with our full bellies!

Don't forget to fluff your pillows

So last Thursday (only 5 days ago) I took the pillows off of our couch to “fluff” them. Today, we took the pillows off of the couch so we could move it into the other room. Removing the pillows revealed a very large, sticky spider web! I didn’t believe it was a web at first because it looked like the fake kind you make during Halloween. I tried to tell Noah it was just cotton from the couch pillows but then I touched it and it was very sticky. The thing that finally confirmed that it was a spider web was the very large grass spider (at least I think that's what it is) that almost crawled on my hand! What’s the lesson, you ask? Don’t just fluff your pillows every five days, do it every day, or monsters like this can grow behind your head! Hope you sleep well tonight :)
